The study titled the effect of instructional materials on the performance of integrated science student in some selected secondary schools in Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja was embarked upon to examine the relative effectiveness of using instructional materials in teaching and learning of integrated science in Junior Secondary Schools. Specifically, how it has added to students’ academic performance.  The researcher employed survey method in the methodology of the study. The instrument used for data collect was questionnaire which was designed and administered to the students of five selected Secondary Schools in Gwagwalada Area Council. The researcher used simple percentage and the mean score in analyzing the data obtained through the administration of questionnaire. The finding revealed that instructional materials help to improve the performance of students in integrated science. The finding also revealed that instructional materials are not readily available in Secondary Schools and students and teachers need to improvise. Therefore, the researcher recommended that the Government and school administrators should make efforts to provide all relevant instructional materials to aid the teaching of integrated science and improve the performance of the students.
