The study examined the extent to which the problems which face the Nigeria Educational Sector can be attribute to the unavailable or inadequate resources situation in most of our Secondary School. Students performance in both internal and external examinations have very poor.
Data were collected through questionnaire from three (3) sample secondary schools. Two (2) Principals, three (3) Vice Principal, fifteen (15) head of departments and forty (40) teachers were the respondents.
The study revealed that library facilities and instructional materials help the teaching- learning process a great deal. It enhance the performance of the teacher and students alike. The research also revealed that professional and trained teachers make teaching and learning effective. In a nut shell, it was reached that educational resources impact the teaching – learning process either positively or negatively, depending on its availability or non-availability.
The study recommended among others, that government allocate enough resources to school to enable then function properly. The private sector should also be given the opportunity to fund public school.
